Arch Cape is in the farthest southwestern part of Clatsop County, at the south end of Cannon Beach. It was named Arch Cape because of the natural arch in the rocks that inhabit this area. Arch Cape post office was established in 1912, with William C. Adams first as the first postmaster. It was discontinued in1913, but has been reestablished.
