Newport is located on the central coast of Oregon and has been a much loved tourist destination since the 1860’s. This facility includes six acress of cliffs, rocky caves, tide pools and trails. Experience the largest seabird aviary in North America. The Oregon Coast Aquarium’s rocky coast exhibit features sea lions, seals and sea otters splashing and playing in the water. The aquarium is very busy during the summer and we suggest that you purchase tickets or make reservations in advance.
Beach goers enjoy a variety of different beaches in Newport. South Beach State Park is located just two miles south of Newport and has wide sandy beaches bordering a great picnic area and campground. The Cobble Beach, that is a portion of the Yaquina Head Natural Area has plentiful marine life in the a rock laden tidal area. Observe and interact with sea stars, sea urchins, crabs and hermit crabs. The shops, restaurants and vacation rental lodging in the Nye Beach area, flatter an unrestrained sandy beach.
Bay Boulevard is a well-liked visitors area where restaurants, shops, galleries, and attractions are located side by side with working canneries and fish-packing companies.
