If you decide to pick up some steaks from Dusty’s Market and cook out, a grill is available for your use! After dinner, you can relax on the screened porch and enjoy the evening experience while you listen to the nocturnal chorus of whip-o-wills, tree frogs, and the occasional hoot of the great horned owl.

Whether you decide to curl up with a good book or spend the afternoon shopping in town, you will grow to love Highlands. Maybe you want to spend the afternoon wading in the cool water emanating from a nearby waterfall or hike on one of the many trails in the surrounding National Forest. Your Highlands vacation will be complete when you end the day with an evening picnic at the top of Sunset Mountain.
